We chat about the late great Billy Thorpe,
about Gil's work with Australian 70s
Synth outfit - Cybotron.
Gil has also been involved in production and sessions with
many great Australian artists. Including Rose Tattoo, Mondo Rock
Gil now heads up Aztec Music,a record company specialising in
reissuing classic Australian albums from the 70s.
We chat about some of them, including 'Band of Light',
'Levi Smith's Clefs'(feat Adelaide legend Barrie McCaskill) and
Madder lake.

This week I chat to the 'elder statesman' of Australian rock.
the one and only Mike Rudd.
Mike has been a constant force in rock music for over 45 years.
From the 60s with Ross Wilson (Daddy Cool) in 'Sons of the Vegetal Mother'
And from there the begining of a more than 40 year musical partnership with bass player Bill Putt.
In the early 70s in 'Spectrum' and their huge hit "I'll Be Gone".
In the mid 70s, one of my favorite bands 'Ariel' with great guitarists Harvey James
& Glyn Mason.
and his bands 'Mike Rudd & the Heaters' and 'Instant Replay'

Land of Fortune with Mal Eastick.
Mal was the guitarist in 70s Adelaide band 'Stars'.
Stars recorded 2 great LPs, Paradise & Land of Fortune.
Mal was also behind the Andy Durant memorial concert in 1980. The event celebrated the life of Andy who was the other guitarist and songwriter in Stars.
The DVD of the concert has been released this year.
We chat about Stars, about Andy, & Mals work with Jimmy Barnes and Broderick Smith. Mal also talks about playing with Joe Walsh & Eric Burdon.
And Mals band since the 90s - The Mal Eastick Band.

Australian Jazz saxaphone legend.
His rock fusion band 'Ayers Rock' were in a league of their own in Australia in the 70s.
Their LP 'Big Red Rock' is still a icon of Mushroom Records.As is their second LP 'Beyond' recorded in the USA.
I spoke to Col about Ayers Rock in the USA.
And as Im a huge Skyhooks fan, Col happened to play on the 1975 LP 'Ego Is Not a Dirty Word'. We also talk about Ayres Rocks influences and his illustrious career working with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey,Sammy Davis Jr & Natalie Cole....and its a long long list.

Its the 30th anniversary of the release of Skyhooks LP "Guilty Until Proven Insane". This week I take a look back at this great album. Feature some of my favorite tunes from it mixed up with clips from the band on the recording of those songs. Clips with Shirley Strachan, Greg Macainsh, Fred Strauks & Bob Spencer. This was the first Skyhooks LP with Bob spencer on guitar and the last studio release featuring the vocals of the late great Shirley Strachan.
